  • Remove access to Dropbox once the customer project is complete

No, crosscloud does never store your data.

How does the crosscloud encryption work?

Files are encrypted using AES256 and random file keys. The file key is stored alongside the file, encrypted for the appropriate user or group of users that should have access to the file as well as for the company. Crosscloud uses RSA-4096 key pairs and key-wrapping to ensure this. Keys are exchanged using the administrator console. Private keys are ONLY stored on local devices and NEVER in the administrator console. The administrator console never sees any private key of a user.

Does the administrator console have access to private keys?

No. The administrator console is a zero-knowledge system without access to private keys whatsoever. The administrator console only handles the exchange of public keys.

How are my private keys moved between devices?

When a new device is added (e.g. after using the desktop application, the user logs in on a mobile device), the device needs to be approved by an existing device. When approved, the new and old device establish a connection and exchange the private key in a way so the administrator console cannot get access to the private key.

How does crosscloud work for my business?

Therefore, any channel can be used while being able to see what is shared and accessed, define rules for how this can happen and protect company information on different channels.

What is the crosscloud Administrator Console?

The administrator console is a backend that let’s administrators monitor, control and secure the usage of data storages through the client. While the team uses the client to sync and share data – in the background the administrator can make sure everything is safe and secure.

How can the company protect the usage of multiple storages?

Firstly, the administrator console allows companies to fully monitor who uses which storages to share what data with whom. Further, companies can dynamically manage the usage of different storages and pre-configure accounts for their employees. Further, the company can define policies for the usage of different storage channels or selectively apply encryption to the data. This way, we enable the company to easily communicate on multiple storage systems while maintaining full control and security.
